Welcome to the heart of the Western BCA Pool Players Association.

Unlike many sports organizations that are run entirely top-down by distant corporate boards, Western BCA is fundamentally a player-driven, non-profit community that thrives on the vital support and dedication of our League Operators and their players. Every tournament we host, every policy we update, and every milestone we hit is fueled by the passion of our members. You aren’t just a number on a spreadsheet, you are a builder of this association.

How Western BCA Players Drive the Association

Western BCA was formed in 1995 with a simple mission: to promote the sport of billiards in the Pacific Northwest and give players access to premier, well-run competitive regional tournaments. We accomplish this through a unique grassroots governance structure:

  • The Foundation of League Operators: Our League Operators (LOs) handle the essential day-to-day logistics, managing local divisions, enforcing fair play, and sanctioning players for regional and national events.
  • Player Representatives: Every sanctioned Western BCA league is entitled to have one Player Representative for every 30 players. They bridge the gap between local league rooms and regional administration.
  • Members-at-Large: Our membership elects up to five Members-at-Large to one-year terms to advocate directly for the everyday tournament competitor.
  • A Culture of Volunteerism: From our tournament registrar staff to our administrative committees, Western BCA operates on volunteer power.
  • Open Meetings & Democracy: Any sanctioned league player is welcome to attend quarterly and annual membership meetings, participate in discussions, and submit agenda items.

Today, Western BCA utilizes FargoRate, the global, objective, and mathematically precise rating system, to handle player classification. This ensures:

  • Absolute Fairness: FargoRate evaluates your skill based on actual performance against opponents, removing bias and guesswork.
  • Real-Time Data: Your rating updates dynamically as league and tournament data from around the world flows in.
  • Dynamic Divisions: Because ratings shift daily, tournament divisions utilize FargoRate “caps” for tight, competitive brackets where everyone has a fair shot.

CSI Membership & Qualified Weeks Lookup

Players are strongly encouraged to check their official CSI records prior to registering for events. Using the lookup tool, you can:

  • Find Your CSI Member ID: Retrieve your official CSI number needed for tournament registrations.
  • Verify Qualified Weeks Played: Track and verify the total number of qualified league weeks you have completed to ensure tournament eligibility.
  • Confirm Sanctioning Status: Ensure your annual BCA Pool League sanctioning is active and up to date.
