Sheree Larson
Administrator
Sheree Larson was the key contributor and founder of the organization that we know of today. She helped create the organization in 1993/1994, including reaching out to Billiards Congress of America to see what it would take to bring an affiliate organization to the northwest. After a lot of planning, it all started with a tournament at Sharky’s Pub & Grub and the Cue Ball in Salem, Oregon in 1994. The 8 and 9 ball events were held together with a total of 95 entries from Oregon and Washington. In a fitting result in the 9 ball championships, Sheree Larson finished first in the women’s division. In 1995, the organization held its first large event outside of a pool hall or bar, moving the state/regional championships to Seaside, Oregon at the Seaside Convention Center, where they played both 8 and 9 ball. The first annual Western BCA Pool Players Association Regional Championships took place thereafter In 1996 at the Kelso Fairgrounds in Kelso, Washington and then eventually moving to Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City Oregon, where it has been held ever since. From the beginning pool player to the best players in the world, the foresight of Sheree Larson provided a backdrop and platform for all levels of players to meet all in one place and enjoy a time away from everyday life.
